With Prolific, we're changing how research on the internet is done. Katia and Phelim started by building a marketplace that connects researchers (from both Academia and industry) with instant, high quality, global research participants. Now, as a growing team of 17, the bigger vision is to build the most powerful and trusted platform for behavioral research.
Our two-sided marketplace and ambitious growth plans come with many interesting challenges around how to accelerate growth. Many questions revolve around: How can we improve customer acquisition, conversion and retention? What are the most effective growth levers that we can push to accelerate growth? Given that it's a marketplace, how can we best balance growing our supply (participants) and demand (researchers) sides? The ideal candidate will have experience in a high-growth marketplace startup and a passion for research.
We've recently been part of Y Combinator's Summer 2019 batch and have decided to grow and scale the company from London, UK.
As one of our first Growth Executives you will help set the foundation for our growth strategy and infrastructure. You will help manage day-to-day analysis and execution across our marketing, sales and growth channels, starting with the Academic market space. As part of our Growth Team and working closely with Leadership and you will work towards these key goals:
Help set clear strategic objectives for growth and define growth KPIs and targets.
Analyze what drives the growth of our platform and determine what is the best allocation of resources in order to improve growth.
Systematically experiment with new growth, marketing and sales channels to help hit targets.
This will likely involve some or all of the following:
Help develop, execute, monitor and manage growth experiments, including marketing and sales campaigns, to determine which growth channels are most effective.
Help us develop our growth strategy and roadmap while holistically thinking through the whole AAARRR funnel (Awareness, Acquisition, Activation, Retention, Referral, Revenue).
Help define growth KPIs and targets for acquiring, converting, and retaining new users, especially Academic customers.
Proactively suggest new questions to ask, new data to collect, new experiments to run, or product changes to make based on insights from growth experiments.
Use analytics software such as Amplitude to create visualizations, segment our user base, and develop dashboards to track key growth, data quality, and demographic metrics over time.
Generate regular reports in a reproducible manner which clearly and accurately describe the collection, organization, and analysis of your data and growth experiments.
Disseminate the key information to the whole organization in written reports and summaries, which highlight the key insights you’ve gained and which are easily interpretable and actionable.
You will have:
Excitement to work for an early-stage, fast-growing startup.
Curiosity and/or passion for research, psychology, behavioral science or similar.
A sense of urgency to hit milestones and targets and an ability to learn fast.
Very strong rigour of thought as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
A giver mentality and excellent team skills.
Ideally 2+ years experience in a hands-on growth role at a high-growth startup (not a strict requirement)
